Sawyer had his first bowl of cereal today. And as expected, he loved it. Ate every last bite. Maybe this will fill his belly and help him to sleep at night. We can only hope. 
Well our little acrobat attempted his latest feat: Cartwheels down the stairs. Yup, Caleb fell down an entire flight of stairs this morning. He has been doing so well with holding the railing and paying attention, but today he had on socks and slipped. I was pretty sure at the time that this would be the one to bring us to the ER, but luckily he is fine. A quick assessment with the lure of a popsicle and Caleb was back to normal. Not a bruise on him so far. It's a good thing kids are made of marshmallow. I stub my toe and it hurts for a week.
I couldn't resist sharing this one with everyone. Sawyer's eyes are just so big and blue here.
I brought Caleb and Sawyer to the doctor's office today for Caleb's 2 year check up. So I figured I'd let everybody know the stats. Caleb is 29 pounds and 34 1/2 inches. That puts him at about 50% for height and 60% for weight. While we were there, we tossed Sawyer on the scale just for curiosity sake. He's weighing in at 17lb 10 oz. So he's about... off the charts. But you already knew that. Everyone's healthy and doing well.
We forgot to mention that Elmo brought Dorothy to Caleb's party. And this is a Dorothy for Caleb to keep. For those not in the Elmo "know", Dorothy is Elmo's fish. And Caleb was thrilled to get a Dorothy of his own. He checks on her several times a day. I think CUG (Uncle Glenn) and Auntie Michelle helped Elmo to pick her out. She's a great addition to the family.
Elmo happened to be in town and came by for Caleb's birthday party. Caleb was a little scared of the 6 foot tall Elmo. Caleb had a great time with everyone that came by.
Caleb's big Elmo party is tomorrow. So an elmo cake it is. Though it took all afternoon and evening, the cake is done. And I'm pleased with how it came out. Let's see how it tastes tomorrow. It is by no means a health food. For some stats, there are 16 eggs, 2 cups of oil and 4 cups of sour cream just for starters. But there is some fruit in it, so that makes it ok. It's a french vanilla cake with coconut, strawberries and crushed pineapple between layers. Hope it tastes good.
Today we had lunch with Kathy and Arpi. My friends from McLean. We've been planning and postponing since December. So, today we were able to have a bit of Christmas. We had a great lunch and a wonderful visit. Can't wait till our next visit.... maybe a little sooner this time.
