E.I.E.I.O.

Caleb really loves the Old MacDonald song. Here he is showing us the pig. He knows all the animals and what they say, or at least close to it. For some reason a doggy says "Dog Dog". He calls this book the EIEIO book. Posted by Picasa

Sad Day

Today we learned of two unfortunate loses. First, our neighbor's Grandson, James Darling passed away on Christmas day. You might remember we went to his fund raiser back in September. It crushes us to think of a family losing a child. Our deepest sympathies go out to the Darling family.

If that news wasn't sad enough. My step-mother, Janis; her father passed away. No matter how old a father gets, he's still a father. He will be missed.

Here is nice video of Caleb drawing us a picture. He is very focused while he draws. He wants to get it just right.

Bangalore

I am half way across the world in Bangalore, India. The weather here is a pleasant 75 and sunny. I just wanted to check in with everyone and let them know I miss them.

One thing I would like to note about India vs. America is their overwhelming acceptance of other culture without losing their own culture. A perfect example is Christmas. There are "Christmas" trees everywhere here, and they are not "Holiday" trees like in America. The people here do not get offended by another individual celebrating what they believe in. At home we are so worried about offending everyone we choose to give up our culture for a bland generic version to make everyone "happy" or more specifically, not un-happy.

Anyways, here is a nice photo I found on the internet of my office building. It actually is the sister tower to my building. My tower is to the left of this one.

The photo was taken by a guy who also has a blog on Blogger. His blog contains alot of great pictures of Bangalore. He has a great photo eye. I don't personally know him, but here is his blog: Bangalore Blog
