The Beach

Deerfield Beach

Sunday night in Florida, we all took a little jaunt over to the beach. This was the first time for both Sawyer and Audrey at the beach. As you will see, Sawyer was truely at home. It took about 45 minutes for Caleb to even dabble a toe in the water, but he had a blast on the sand. We all had fun. The air was warm with a strong breeze, and the water was beautiful. Unfortunately, there was one casualty. Caleb lost his digital camera. It was his favorite Christmas toy, and he was excited to take photos of the beach to show his school friends. Well, that was until he got distracted and left it on the picnic table. We didn't notice it until we were on the way back to the house. So, just to put our hearts at ease, Jeremy and Glenn borowed flashlights and went back for a look. Unfortunately, all they got was a walk on the beach in the moonlight. No camera. Oh, well. A learning experience.

Hide and Seek

hide and seek

This was a really cute game of Hide and Seek with Caleb and Stephen. My cousins were so great with the kids all weekend. They taught the boys Shuffle board, played Hide and seek, computer games, and on and on. This was just one really cute game I thought I would separate out. I love this photo especially. Did you spot Stephen behind the tree? Good thing he was wearing baggy clothes. It might have taken Caleb all day to find him. Even he was surprised when he did.

1-13 afternoon

This is Sunday the thirteenth. Much of the family was heading back up north, but we still had another day to enjoy the sun. We just laid low with Nana and the family as everyone headed out.

party #2

This is the second surprise party for Nana The Great. This was at the center in her housing community with all of the family that flew down and about 85 of her 'closest friends'. It was a blast. Little old ladies driving in on their motorized wheelchairs, guys on golf carts and so on. The food was great, the surprise was great and we danced like no tomorrow. What a blast. It was also my birthday and one of my Nana's friends' day also. She turned 98! Still golfs twice a week and plays shuffle board. May we all be so blessed.

pool time

Florida pool

Here are some great photos from Saturday afternoon. Pool time/ prep for the next big surprise. We dragged my Nana to the pool so she would be 'out of the way' for more serious party planning. Highlights of the day included Shuffle board (Caleb was in love with the game), Audrey's first time in the pool, Sawyer getting his head stuck in the bars of the pool fence (I would have had a photo of that, but CUG felt bad and pulled it out too fast). These kids are a riot.

1-11 Party

1-11 party

These are the photos of Nana The Great's surprise Birthday party. Some are from my camera and some are from Michelle's camera. It was a wonderful surprise. When Nana got to the restaurant with Karen and Justine for a dinner out, she was told there would be a few more joining them. In walked all of her other five kids and their significant others. So, they would need a bigger table, and don't you know they had one in another room. There just so happened to be about 20 more of us waiting for her at that table. All in all there were all 6 kids and 8 grandkids, 3 great- grandkids, and 3 of my Grandfather's sisters and their spouses, and one of her neices with her husband. Can you believe it! Like 35 of us, All by plane for a fabulous weekend.

January Photos

These are some great photos from January. This has been a huge month. There are some photos from Michelle and Glenn's camera and some from ours. Highlights are: The boys spent an overnight at Titi and CUG's house so I could do some painting, some great shots of all the kids together, Nana and the boys making a great snowman, and the list goes on.

Rooney Christmas

Rooney Christmas

Sorry for the red eye, but it just didn't fix well. These are some photos from Michelle's camera and some from ours. Unfortunately, Audrey wasn't having a good day, so there aren't too many pics. It was really nice to get together with everyone. The boys had a blast with their cousins; Amy Rose, Jodie and Katie. They were in heaven.

December bits

These are a few from December that didn't fit elsewhere.

Christmas afternoon

Crhistmas afternoon

This is Christmas afternoon and evening. Dad and the boys joined us and we continued the festivities. Fun fun fun.

Audrey's Bum

Audrey's bum

This is Audrey in her Bumbo seat. This is a great little seat that we had wanted to get her for Christmas, but it was recalled. My feeling is that they were recalled for parental error, and wanted one anyway, so Michelles sister-in-law was kind enough to lend theirs to us. She loves it and is able to sit up in it on her own and play. We all love it.

Breakfast

Christmas breakfast

The breakfast spread was delicious!

Christmas Morning at Titi's and CUG's

Christmas Morning

These are our Christmas morning photos. It was awesome. Caleb really started getting Santa this year and that made it all that much more fun. It was great. The kids ran into the room and Caleb immediately went for Sawyer's gifts and Sawyer inturn went for Caleb's. Everybody was blessed. Among the highlights, the 6 foot giraffe tent for the boys, Sawyer's first sleeping bag, a view finder for Caleb, a new 'laptop' computer, and oodles and oodles more. Mommy got a tube of Sexy mother pucker (a lip plumping gloss... makes your lips swell... kind of feels like anaphlaxis.... thanks Santa). Daddy got lots of practical gifts, floor mats and a new wallet. There were more gifts than we could handle. We were opening for days.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve at Michelle and Glenn's house to make it easier for Christmas day. We got there after dinner and did the milk and cookie thing for Santa before bed. We left a note so that Santa would know that Caleb, Sawyer and Audrey were there, and to leave their presents. He was kind enough to write back.

Nativity play

Nativity Play

The Nativity play at Caleb's preschool was great! The kids did so well and actually participated. The older kids had speaking roles and the little ones were the animals. Caleb was a sheep. This preschool is just amazing. They are so good to the kids. Even Mrs. Crawford was a sheep (in the middle of the stage). Sawyer was so ready to join them, but we held him back, literally, so that Caleb could shine. You will also see a photo after the play with Caleb and Sophia. This is his good friend from school, and partner in crime. The like to play together. Sometimes up to no good. It's fun!

Carr Chistmas

Carr Christmas

The whole Carr family was able to make it for Christmas. Chris was home from Chicago and Allie was home from College. It was nice to have everyone over and the kids had a blast. And so Christmas was officially under way. Let the opening begin.

Audrey on the lazy susan

These are some cute pics of Caleb and Audrey on her lazy susan toy she got from Grandma and Grandpa Carr. She really likes it. Sawyer loves to spin her on it, as you can only imagine. That boy loves to have fun... at anyone's expense.

New hair

Sarah

I'm sure you saw my new doo on the Christmas Card, but incase you missed it. I chopped it in the first part of December. I'm do to go back and cut it again, but I'm loving the new style.

My little martian

martian

These are some cute ones of Audrey in her brother's deelie boppers. No idea how to spell that, but you know what I'm talking about. I apologize ahead for the red eyes. My kids always have red eyes, and sometimes fixing it makes it look even worse. Such is life

End of November

nov

These are a few that didn't make it into the last post of November. I may take a while, but I'm going to try to get caught up on all the photos. Bear with me.
