Coffee Break

coffee break

They say babies tend to ave an affinity for what the parents eat and drink. By the third child, she was destined for it.

Camp In/Out

camp out/in

CUG called last Saturday to see if Caleb and Sawyer wanted to try a campout in a real tent in the back yard. We had our doubts, but Caleb wanted to give it a try. So, Glenn set up the tent and Caleb said very matter-of-fact, I think I'll sleep in my bed. So Glenn took it in stride and said, maybe we could set up the giraffe tent in your rooom and sleep in that, and again Caleb said, I think I'll sleep in my bed. So in the end all the boys played dominoes in the tent and used all of their camping gear, then came inside to sleep. Caleb slept in the giraffe tent, Glenn slept on the floor, and Sawyer slept in his crib. As usual, Caleb was the last one up at night and the first one up in the morning. That was the best part for me. CUG saved us for an extra 45 minutes. Then Michelle came back for breakfast (she wasn't interested in the whole campout thing, not sure why). We burned about 2 1/2 batches of pancakes and enjoyed good company. FUN stuff.

Pick your own caption

pick your caption

You be the author of your own caption. Is it the choice of finger, or the location that is more offensive. I did not remember seeing this pose as I was taking it. It was not until I was looking at the uploaded pics that I noticed it. endearing little soul, isn't he.

Roland's Birthday

Roland's B-day

Caleb was invited to a birthday party for his school friend Roland last weekend. So I took the boys and Audrey stayed home with Daddy. The boys had a nice time and it was nice for Caleb to keep in touch with his school friends. They are not all going to the summer program.

Ice pop bandaid

ice pop bandaid

I know you are shocked to hear that Sawyer bonked his head, but he did. But it was nothing a littl frozen food couldn't cure. The Corn was too heavy, so we had to switch to blueberries. And the pop was for the hurt feelings. The true indicator of injury; can it be fixed with a pop?

latest trick

on your feet

Audrey learned to stand on her own and is loving it. She is really great on the grass and loves it. She caught the hand of it on a Thursday and then all day Friday and Saturday she was on her feet. She was sick last week and her progress slowed down a bit, but she is still working on it. Last week she just wanted to be held.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels

These are a few photos from our visit to see Caroline last week. Caleb was in full day school, so Audrey and Sawyer and I made dinner for Jen, John and Edie. It was nice to see the little one (Sleeping the whole time) and visit with Jen and Edie.

Sandy

Audrey in the Sand

This was Audrey's first real outing in the sandbox. She liked it. It's all about keeping up with those boys.

Are you a good witch or a bad witch?

good witch?

Priceless moments of youth. Jeremy and I checked in on the boys before bed and found Caleb sleeping on the floor under his tent. This kid gets the prize for crazy locations for sleep. All I could think of when I saw him was the witch in the Wizard of Oz under the house.

Caleb's 4

caleb's 4

Today was Caleb's 4th birthday. We had a construction party and it was a total blast. We did lots of planning and had all sorts of activities and decorations. We had caution tape and 'road signs'. I made a Digger cake and we played construction games. There was a 'nail it' station with Styrofoam packing and golf tees, a 'paint it' station with edible pudding finger paint, and there were kids tool belts for them to personalize. There was a demolition area where they used a 'wrecking ball' to knock down a tower of boxes. The older kids tried to knock them down in order and the little ones just knocked them down. We had a kiddie pool of bubbles and assorted bubble guns. Since it was 94 degrees and humid as anything we finished the day with water balloons and sprinkler games. It was a blast.

After the chaos, Jen and John came by with their newborn Caroline. She is so precious and tiny. Gotta love her.

end of year BBQ

MLP BBQ

The preschool held the graduation and end of year BBQ on Friday. It was a nice time. All the kiddos ran around like maniacs, the usual. We had a nice visit.

Around the World

round the world

This past week Michelle and I took the kids to see Christopher and Matthew in their end of the year projects. Matthew was performing with the elementary school band and had an art exhibit. Then we headed over to the middle school where Christopher was presenting his project on Samoa. Each student presented on their particular contry. Many kids were sampling food and drink from their given place. This was a favorite of Sawyer. Unfortunately it was hot as Africa in there.

day 2

caroline's day 2

Caroline's second day she was even cuter than the first. We saw more of her eyes and she was a bit more alert. We even decked her out in her own flower band.

Icecream for dinner

june first

We went to Michelle and Glenn's house for some play time and an ice cream dinner. Sawyer actually had a chicken drumstick or two. There are some cute pics of Sawyer playing with Guinness and CUG. The photos of CUG tossing him have not been doctored; lots of air. Audrey is actually sleeping in the pack and play sitting. The little pip was fussy and had to cry it out. She leaned right over and drooled herself to sleep. enjoy.
